How far in advance should I book a wedding DJ?
We recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance for weddings, especially for peak season dates (May through October). Corporate events and private parties typically 2 weeks to 3 months out.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Wood Wayz Entertainment LLC holds an Illinois business license and carries insurance through Next/Ergo Insurance. We are a multi-member LLC.
What equipment do you use?
We use Pioneer DDJ FLX 10 and FLX 4 controllers, Rekordbox Pro DJ software on a MacBook Pro, EV speakers and Subwoofers, Yamaha mixers, Phenyx Pro wireless microphones, and DMX-controlled lighting from Beetopper and HOLDLAMP. We bring 2000W(3000W peak) and 350W battery backup systems to every event.
How long does setup take?
For weddings and corporate events, setup takes approximately 3 hours. For Clubs, bars, pubs, and restaurants, residencies, setup takes 45-60 minutes.
Do you take song requests at events?
Yes. We prioritize your preferences during the planning process and accept requests at the event as long as they fit the vibe.
What is your service area?
We serve all of Illinois - including Springfield, Decatur, Bloomington, Champaign, and Peoria - plus lower Wisconsin, eastern Iowa, western Indiana, and northern Missouri. A travel fee of $150 applies to events more than 200 miles from Springfield, Illinois.
What happens if there's a technical issue during my event?
We check our equipment after every event to ensure reliability, but in the unlikely case that we do experience technical issues or equipment failure, we bring backup equipment, such as backup DJ controllers, mixers, speakers, and a backup battery pack for power issues, just in case such issues do arise during an event.
Do you offer outdoor event services?
Yes. Outdoor events require covered overhead space. If your venue does not have coverage , we can provide a 10-foot by 10-foot canopy.
How do I book Wood Wayz Entertainment?
You can book directly through our website. After submitting your inquiry, you'll receive a confirmation email informing you that we have received your inquiry, and the email will contain service details and a scheduling link. Once you can review the service details and respond to the scheduling link, we'll send a branded proposal with a package recommendation, contract, and deposit link to confirm your date.
